The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lahore, had in February decided to challenge the bail decision of the Lahore High Court in Mohammad Asif Housing and Ramadan Sugar Mill case of Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif.
According to sources, the NAB’s top officials and the legal team have been consulted regarding the High Court decision and the Supreme Court’s approach. After receiving a copy of the detailed written decision from the Lahore High Court, the next step will be taken after reviewing it. Additionally, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif is also an opposition leader in the National Assembly. The PML-N has supported Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s independence march on October 27, while Shehbaz Sharif has refused to say the leadership of the march is suffering from his back. Sources say that Shehbaz Sharif was once again worried about being too tight in the NAB, refusing to be part of any anti-government movement.
