Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan says that shopping centers and hairdressers/hair salons and a few other shops will be allowed to operate in Turkey in mid-May.

For the past few weeks, Turkey has imposed a complete lock down and curfew in 31 cities across the country.

From May 10th, children and individuals over the age of 65 will be allowed only to walk around near their homes for a few hours, according to a government announcement.

The president, Tayyip Erdoğan further says that hair salons can start operating from May 11th and educational institutions can resume teaching from June 15th.

However, he says that if the people do not follow the rules, there will be strict rules again.

The country’s health ministry says that about 3,500 people have died or kicked the bucket in Turkey so far.
